A Single Channel Low-Cost Surface Electromyography Acquisition System

The paper presents the design and implementation of a portable cost-effective electromyography (EMG) acquisition system for beginner researchers or can be used for general purpose human-machine interaction. The device includes Texas Instruments TM4C123G LaunchPad as a low-cost ARM Cortex-M4 based microcontroller, a cost-effective EMG sensor, and Nextion 3.2” touch screen Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) as a monitor. The developed system has relatively simple data acquisition and a signal processing unit which makes the proposed design computationally and financially cost-effective.
