Development and research of a shunt arrester for high-power capacitive energy storage devices operating on low-inductance electrodynamic devices

The development of high-voltage high-current pulse technology poses for researchers of electrophysical processes in the microsecond range the task of creating high-voltage devices for the formation of unipolar current pulses in a load with a harmonic form of the discharge current in order to more completely convert the energy of the storage device, increase the resource of capacitors, and increase the frequency of the experiment. In the article, based on the analysis of the mathematical model of the discharge circuit, analytical expressions are proposed for calculating the shunting mode of a capacitive energy storage when it is operating on low-inductive mass accelerators. The analysis of experimental studies on the influence of shunting circuit parameters on the efficiency of the regime is carried out. It was found that the use of the shunt mode of the storage in order to increase the efficiency of the electrodynamic mass accelerators is expedient for the following ratios of the parameters of the shunting circuit and the load: inductance
