A digital twin model for electricity systems

Electric power industry is an area where digital twin technology is in demand. The paper proposes a mathematical model of digital twin for electric power systems. A digital twin model for electric power systems is constructed. The scheme of algorithm by the example of emergency recovery and control loops of electric power systems is developed. An example of the subject area of operative recognition of emergencies and decision making in electric power systems (EPP) is considered in the application aspect. For the purpose of predicting and promptly responding to such incidents, a detailed representation and formal description of this subject area in the form of a system mathematical model (digital twin) has become necessary. Such a model will ensure the identifiability and traceability of the processes of the life cycle (LC) of EEC in accordance with the principles of systems engineering. It is possible to trace the mutual influence of components of different systems (objects) in the context of changes in the parameters of one system, leading to an emergency situation in the other. All this can be represented as a multi-level matrix of both targets and various constraints (e.g., time or technological) interconnected by categorical relations in the form of a “Descartes square”.
