Comparison of methods for determining the idle current of asynchronous motors

Nowasynchronous motorsays, due to the steasynchronous motorsy tendency of using asynchronous motors in almost all industries, there is often a need to define motor parameters, which are not available in reference data. And it is necessary to know the parameters of asynchronous motors in different modes of operation: no-loasynchronous motors, nominal mode, and so on. Their calculation is based on the substitution diagrams. This article considers a number of methods known in theory and practice of electrical machines for calculating no load current and losses. The possibility of calculating no load current on the basis of the reactive power meter of induction motor for rated operation according to the motor nameplate data has been proved. An original expression for no load current calculation is obtained. The considered methods of no load current calculation and data have been investigated as applied to two types of induction motor in the power group of up to 100 kW and 1000 kW.
