A knowledge graph-based method for modeling and analyzing the disaster risks of railway construction in the mountainous area of Southwest China

In the mountainous area of Southwest China, the railway engineering construction faces extremely complex and dangerous natural environment, in which the analysis of the potential correlations among disaster risk factors is a key step for the engineering design and safety assurance. In this paper, we present a network model based on knowledge graph to analyze and explore potential correlation relationships and risk chains among the geology, geography or environmental disasters risk factors. In our model, a knowledge graph is constructed where the nodes represent the disaster risk factors and edges represent the possible relationships among disaster risk factors. Furthermore, by defining the parameter matrix and topological indexes of the graph, we describe the potential correlation relationships among the disaster risk factors quantitatively. The result shows that in the southwest mountainous area China, some strong correlations exist among disaster factors. Moreover, some disasters are more likely to occur with other disasters so that some disaster risk chains form. The results provide a basis for the analysis and evaluation of disaster risks of railway engineering construction in the southwest mountainous area.
