Response Characteristic Analysis of Long Dipole Antennas excited by HEMP waves

Due to the limitation of pulse generator and dipole antenna size, it is difficult to form electromagnetic pulse with plane wave property on long dipole antenna in HEMP pulse illumination test. In this paper, the response characteristics of the long dipole antenna are analyzed using the classical electromagnetic calculation method MoM, which the space geometric relation of the antenna and pulse generator are considered for obtaining the response when the electromagnetic pulse owns spherical wave property. Short-circuit current to antenna port is taken as the response indicator, using the CST to verify the effectiveness of the calculating method. The analysis results of the response characteristics involve the various antenna length, separately considering the two electric field environment spherical wave and plane wave. Finally, we get a series of interesting conclusion from the analysis, which has important reference significance to intensify the HEMP coupling response analysis.
