Abstract:
Textile industry has remained the backbone of the Pakistani economy and this fact is still valid to a large extent. According to Gallup report, in 2018-2019, Pakistan’s largest export industry was the textile industry, with hosiery and readymade garments contributing 544 billion PKR/3.47 billion USD to total trade but due to lack of trained human resources lot of local factories are unable to meet the deadlines and maintain the quality of the products. To solve this problem technological solution is proposed in which robots will assist the human workers by doing their repetitive and time-consuming tasks i.e., carrying the goods from warehouse to delivery counter. An Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) is developed which follows the predefined path which can be customized according to the demand of the task, magnetic guide sensors detect the invisible magnetic tape lying under the floor mats and keeps tracking it, tags are placed on the floor to speed up/down or divert to stop at the charging stations. Further developments can be done to convert this AGV into Autonomous AGV which can simultaneously localize and map the environment and navigate through the obstacles by path planning using Artificial Intelligence without taking any external assistance.
