Scattering of an Optical Pulse by a Dimer of Spherical Gold Nanoparticles

We consider the scattering and absorption of laser pulses of various duration by dimers of spherical gold nanoparticles. Formulas are obtained for finding the pulse energy absorbed and scattered by the dimer. The change in the spectral shape of the pulse, which appears as a result of elastic scattering, is demonstrated. The dependence of the absorption of the field energy by the dimer on the carrier frequency and spectral width of pulse has been studied.
