Compound Words as a Means of Expressing Content Tonality in the Ukrainian Text Media

The intensification of the language processes is associated with economic and social globalization as well as the development of intercultural communication; it goes along with the processes of linguistic borrowing, coinage, and active use of such lexical items in the text media of Ukraine. The vocabulary of modern languages has been formed over the course of history and is the result of a lot of complex elements that have been layered over the centuries, both through internal resources (word formation, affixation, reinterpretation of words) and through borrowings from other languages, including English. All types of compound words are presented in the text media of Ukraine, those are compositions, juxtapositions, blending, abbreviations, which, depending on the context, bear different evaluative meanings.
