Features of Minigrid Operation Control Based on a Small Generation Power Plant with an External Power Grid

The article studies the features of the Minigrid operation which formed on the basis of local power supply systems with small generation power plants. These systems can operate on renewable energy sources (solar and wind power plants) forming a Minigrid DC network with storage devices and converters and it connects to the external electrical network through frequency converting devices. Also these systems can operate on carbon fuel (mainly natural gas and water-coal fuel), energy generated from the disposal of associated gases and fuel waste (industrial and domestic waste). However, in this case systems uses a Minigrid AC network connected to the external electrical network of the high power system in a mode with synchronous connection. The results of the research and automation system development are presented. The automation system is designed to solve a technical challenge of safe connection and ensuring the parallel Minigrid operation the general electrical network during the implementation of technological and emergency control.
