Abstract:

In this paper the problem of reducing the capacity of the railway due to a decrease in voltage levels on the sections remote from the power substations is considered. As one of the options for solving this task, the usage of autonomous hybrid electric power plant as an additional power source for the problem sections of the railway is proposed. The description of AHPP structure, principles of their interaction and the simulation model developed by using Matlab Simulink are given in the paper. Also the analysis of the influence of AHPP modes on the voltage level in the contact network of the railway section has been performed for three cases: power supply from two substations without using AHPP; with installation of AHPP at one of the traction substations; with installation of AHPP in the section between substations in the middle of the track. Based on the results of the analysis, the assessment of the feasibility of AHPP using in the electrification systems of railways was performed.
