Synthesis of the Control System for the Voltage Stabilization Unit of the Three-Stage Synchronous Generator

The article considers the generation system based on a three-stage synchronous generator for a wide class of aircraft. For such system the device is needed that would regulate the current of the exciter excitation winding when the stator current of the main generator changes. The voltage of the exciter is the power supplying voltage of such a device. The voltage of the exciter does not depend on the mode and operating conditions of the main generator but the voltage level of the exciter is usually higher than the voltage level that is maximally necessary to power the excitation winding of the exciter. Thus, the semiconductor step-down converter is needed to regulate this voltage. Modern trends in the aircraft industry are aimed at increasing the level of electrification and digitalization of on-board equipment. Thus, it is advisable to consider the design of a digital voltage stabilization unit under the control of a microprocessor system. The analysis and calculation of the total time constant for a three-stage synchronous generator is carried out. Based on the obtained data, the synthesis of a two-circuit system of subordinate control of a semiconductor converter is carried out. The control system is designed to stabilize the output voltage in accordance with GOST for aviation power supply systems. The parameters of the control system regulators are calculated and tested on the mathematical model.
