Modeling of a Stand-Alone Photovoltaic System Using an Intelligent Control System Based on Artificial Neural Network

This paper discusses options for increasing the efficiency of autonomous power supply systems with solar panels. A schematic device is considered, which is proposed to use a multi-port circuit that combines several channels of the converter. The schemes of the main channels of the circuit in the DC link are presented. An artificial neural network has been created, which provides a maximum power point tracking. It is proposed to refuse illumination as input data for artificial neural network. An intelligent control system based on this neural network has been developed. In accordance with the operating conditions of the autonomous system, the main operating modes of the circuit were used. for the efficient operation of the converter, it is necessary to ensure the maximum power take-off of the solar panel under various conditions. The control of modes has been worked out, switching between the operating modes is based on the use of artificial neural network as a key link in the control system. A smooth transition between the operating modes of the converter is organized, depending on weather conditions or time of day. Simulation modeling was carried out in the Matlab software package, which confirms the performance of the proposed system. The corresponding conclusions are drawn.
