Non-coherent Digital Demodulation of ADBPSK and ADQPSK Signals

In the present paper, one studies a digital implementation of non-coherent demodulators of multi-position amplitude modulation and relative (differential) binary or quadrature phase shift keyed signals based on the digital noncoherent demodulators of the relative binary (DBPSK) and relative quadrature (DQPSK) phase shift keyed signals that do not require phase synchronization. The algorithms for processing signals and generating decisions based on the received code combinations are considered. The noise immunity of the introduced demodulators is evaluated and their statistical simulation is carried out. It is demonstrated that the proposed algorithms make it possible to carry out separate processing of the signal amplitude and phase at both the receiving (in the modulator) and the transmitting (in the demodulator) sides that is expedient, for example, in optical communication lines.
