Research on the Effect of Winding Connection Modes on Radial Force and Vibration of Two-Phase SRM

Switched reluctance motor (SRM) has the advantages of stable structure, flexible and simple control. Compared with the most used three-phase switched reluctance motor in the market, two-phase switched reluctance motor has fewer switching devices, lower cost, and is more suitable to be used as a high-speed motor. The larger vibration and noise restrict its application in the field of small household appliances. The radial force is the main cause of the vibration and noise of the SRM. In this paper, the flux linkage and radial forces of different winding connection modes are compared and analyzed based on the magnetic circuit of two-phase 8/4 SRM with unequal tooth width. The radial force and vibration acceleration of NNNNSSSS and NNSSNNSS windings are simulated and tested in low-speed CCC mode and high-speed angle adjustment mode.
