Various Threats and Challenges to Information Security via Active and Passive Attack

Cloud computing have many advantages such as ease of accessibility, scalability, cost savings, storage immortality and disaster recovery etc. However, it is highly vulnerable to attacks and compromises security and privacy of data. The attacks are broadly classified as active and passive attack. The existing methods focus on specific type of attack. Various existing methods of attack detection and prevention are reviewed in this paper and a comprehensive mechanism to prevent these attacks is proposed.
