Research on Stall Recovery Parachute Flight Deployment Tests

Stall speed and stall characteristics are the most important flight test subjects for civil airplane airworthiness certification flight test. There is a possibility that the airplane may enter into spin or deep stall condition, the stall recovery parachute must be installed. In this paper, the flight test contents and methods are designed according to the purposes of stall recovery parachute in-flight deployment test. Then risk analysis is carried out to identify the hazards and its root causes, hence, propose reasonable mitigation measures and emergency procedures. Lastly, the result data of in-flight deployment tests are analyzed to deduce suitable operational suggestions for the device.
