1-Bit Reconfigurable Transmitarray for Wireless Power Transmission

An 1-bit reconfigurable transmitarray (RTA) is advanced in this paper for wireless power transmission (WPT). Firstly, the unit cell of the transmitarray is designed at 5.8 GHz. Then the optimization process is given. The simulation results show that the proposed unit cell can achieve a phase difference of 180 degrees when the pin diodes is biased forward and reverse. The maximum insertion loss is 0.96 dB. Its period length is about $0.42\lambda$, Finally, an $11 \times 11$ array is formed, and the beam-steering of −40° to 0° with 10° step are obtained through HFSS simulation. The simulation results of the transmitarray show that the proposed transmitarray is very suitable for WPT.
