Performance Analysis Between Graphene and MoS2 Based MSM Photodiode

The performance of graphene-based and multilayer MoS
2
based MSM (metal-semiconductor-metal) photodetectors is compared in this study using analytical analysis and simulation. At varying voltages, optical powers, and wavelengths, the total illuminated current, photocurrent, and photo responsivity in these two photodiodes show distinct findings. While adjusting the wavelength of the incident light at -10V biasing voltage, this investigation shows that MoS
2
based photodiode has 1.3 times greater Schottky barrier height (SBH) and direct bandgap photo responsivity than graphene-based photodiode. Moreover, when adjusting the optical power under a -10V fixed biasing voltage, the photocurrent in MoS
2
based photodiodes is roughly two times higher than graphene-based photodiodes.
