Performance Analysis of Transformer-Less Inverter Topologies for PV Applications

Solar energy being one of the promising renewable energysources, generation of power from solar have been increased from past decade. In a solar energy conversion system inverter is the major power electronic device which converts the DC power generated into AC power. In a grid tied system these inverters are used with transformer for isolation. But use of these static devices would increase the size, cost and conduction losses. To subdue this issue, the recent trend is to design the inverters without transformers. There are many topologies to achieve this and the paper spiels the working of transformer-less inverter topologies like H, H5 and H6and compare its performance parameters.
