Techno-Economic Analysis of Hybrid Renewable Energy Based Community Microgrid

As energy demand is growing, nations are committed to increasing renewable energy penetration to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. Nations are committed to boosting the renewable energy penetration to mitigate the Green House gas emissions. To encourage clean energy and reduce carbon footprint, adopting renewable energy sources are inevitable for any country. In the light of sustainable development goals (SDG) optimal utilization of various sustainable hybrid renewable energy sources along with storage is the need of the hour. To champion this cause, microgrids are playing a vital role. In this paper, a techno-economic analysis of hybrid renewable energy-based community Microgrid (MG) has been proposed. The objective of the study is to design the Microgrid with optimal configuration. It includes a photovoltaic, wind turbine, diesel generator, and biogas generator as distributed energy resources and battery storage .HOMER Pro software is used for optimal configuration and design of Microgrid. ETAP software is used for technical validation to ensure voltage limits within the IEEE-1547-2018 standards.
