Performance analysis of single-phase grid interactive voltage source inverter using different filter

In the current scenario the penetration of renewable energy sources to the existing grid increases in order meet the increasing load demand. Most of the renewable sources are interconnected to the grid through pulse width modulated (PWM) voltage source inverter as the outputs of the renewable are intermittent in nature. For proper synchronization of the renewable with the grid different current control techniques are used to control the output parameters of the pulse width modulated inverter. These PWM inverter injects harmonics to the system which should be filter out before synchronization according to grid code compliance. Most of the cases a simple L filter or a LCL filter is used to suppress the harmonics. In this paper a LLCL filter is used which can suppress the current ripple at switching frequency therefore the total harmonic distortion is low as compared to the other filter. The system is simulated in MATLAB-Simulink environment.
