Improved Heuristic algorithm for short term hydrothermal including wind-solar generating power plant

This paper proposes improved real coded genetic algorithm (IRCGA) for finding a clarification for scheduling problem considering a solar, wind including hydrothermal power generation with a battery energy storage unit. Genetic algorithm (GA) follows intrinsic functioning of human chromosomes. It is competent to produce a result which is nearly equal to the global optima. In this paper, IRCGA is implemented to enhance the speed of convergence as well as the quality of solution. The potency of the implemented algorithm has been verified considering two test cases taking two systems. The outcomes of simulation of this proposed approach have been related to the outcomes already realized implementing real coded genetic algorithm (RCGA) algorithm. It is concluded that proposed IRCGA is capable to generate superior result for this problem.
