Solar PV Array Fed Fuzzy Logic Controlled PMSM Drive for Water Pumping System

The main objective of this paper is to present the vector control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) based upon the fuzzy logic control (FLC) that is utilized in a photovoltaic based water pumping system. The FLC performs well under any system parameter changes, load disturbances, and a sudden change in reference speed for the electrical motor-drive. The pump is driven by a PMSM in vector control mode. The system dynamic response is improved by using a power feed forward term. This accomplishes the goal of effective and efficient water pumping. The proposed system is designed, modelled, and simulated on the MATLAB/Simulink platform. The system's performances at variable atmospheric conditions are investigated.
