Contactless Energization of Piezoelectric Components Through Dual Directional Electric Field

The simultaneous contactless energization of two piezoelectric plates through electric field (E-field) generated by dual-directional parallel plate capacitor like- structure has been explored. In the proposed idea, the dual-directional parallel plate capacitor like- structure has been prearranged with a pair of live (or potential) electrodes and a ground electrode. By using simulation tool (COMSOL Multiphysics), E-field lines pattern and output-power across the surface of piezo plates have been analyzed. The maximum output-power across the two piezo plates rely on system resonance, piezo plate position and electrodes gap. The E-field produced by dual-directional structure penetrate the two piezoelectric (piezo) plates positioned at the core center of each potential and ground electrodes. The simulation study reveals that the piezo plate attains its maximum excitation when the operational resonating frequency matches with that of the mechanical resonating frequency of piezo plates. The output-power across the two piezo plates i.e., piezol and piezo2, energized contactlessly by dual-directional parallel plate capacitor like structure are 0.288 mW and 0.269 mW respectively, where input potential is 50 V and electrodes gapping is 4 mm.
