Brain Lesion detection and Analysis- A Review

Today the use of information technology is pervaded in every walk of life. In medical field its use is increasing. The medical healthcare system becomes more robust due to this as the availability of clinical experts who is geographically located at far distance but due to the information technology is connected at the place where his expertise is in high demand. In the field of brain tumor detection, the brain images in digital format are processed by various image processing and pattern recognition algorithms to extract features from the images. The increasing research in the field of Deep learning and the availability of high speed processing machines through cloud computing has made a significant improvement in diagnosing, further monitoring and curing or reducing the fatality of the brain tumor and related diseases. In this paper we have taken a survey related with the various brain diseases, the image acquisition methods used and various algorithms used by various researchers for extracting features and classifying the images as benign or malignant.
