The Future of Work: COVID-19 and Beyond

The articles in this special section focus on how we conduct work has and will change post COVID-19. in this special issue, we explored how pervasive computing can enhance worker and organization productivity, as well as support workers in balancing productivity with well-being. The authors of the eight articles in this special issue address these questions in two ways. One approach was to focus on our understanding of the needs of workers, the challenges they face, and their constraints, and then relate this understanding to what pervasive computing can do to support them. The other approach was to focus on pervasive computing technologies and describe and evaluate the techniques that are used to support future workers.
