The Frequency Constraints of Space-time Wideband Beamforming using Non-uniform Decomposition Method

Space-time adaptive processing is an established method to design a wideband beamformer. In this paper, a novelty approach is proposed to directly obtain the minimum dimension of the frequency constraints for the adaptive spacetime wideband beamforming. The proposed algorithm uses nonuniform decomposition method to fast construct the frequency constraints without additional calculation, and the constraints can guarantee the space-time wideband beamformer with distortionless response to the signal of interests. Comparing with the singular value decomposition for the original frequency constraints to obtain the minimum dimension, the proposed algorithm can obtain the minimum dimension of the frequency constraints directly without any computational complexity, and they have the same performance on wideband beamforming. Simulation results highlight the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed methods.
