Drone-based sensing and exploration of overhead electric power lines

We propose a drone-based SWIM (Sequential Wave Imprinting Machine) approach to the sensing of overhead electric power lines. This will be useful in smart city sensing, e.g. to sense electric field distributions around overhead power lines without the need to stop traffic on the road as is often done with a bucket truck or lift truck that hoists utility workers up to the wires. Moreover, our remote sensing approach provides additional safety.
