The Use of Dimethyl Ether

The transition to alternative types of fuel is considered, since in connection with the deterioration of the environment, this becomes a necessary condition for the environment. In this regard, in recent years, attention has been paid to the search for alternative fuels that would satisfy the conditions of the working process of a diesel engine, and also contribute to the rapid reduction of harmful emissions into the atmosphere. Currently, there are several varieties of alternative fuels for internal combustion engines. Among well-known fuels, such as natural gas, alcohols (methanol, ethanol), hydrogen, rapeseed oil, and others, the question of using dimethylether (DME) began to be considered. The issue of DME production is described, the effect of the use of DME is analyzed, conclusions are drawn about the expediency of its use.
