Questions of Transport Planning on the Example of the Northern and Far-Eastern Regions of the Russian Federation

A stable system of territorial development largely depends on the effective operation of the transport complex. The transport system ensures the satisfaction of transport demand, which makes it possible to serve various economic processes of the life of cities/regions/agglomerations. In turn, ensuring the proper level of mobility when moving passengers and cargo significantly affects the quality of life of the population. The task of the development of the transport complex is to increase the availability of movement, including in matters of meeting demand at the level of international travel. The availability of a public transport infrastructure is an important prerequisite for the possibility of moving people and goods be-tween the functional and spatial areas of the territorial agglomeration. The improvement of the passenger and cargo transportation system, the development of the transport system of the Northern regions is the most priority task. To solve this problem, it is necessary to form regional transport planning documents. Transport planning allows you to ensure the development of infrastructure, which contributes to increasing the efficiency of the transport complex. The article provides a brief overview of the aspects of transport planning and reflects the experience of developing transport planning documents on the example of the Sakha Republic.
