Algorithm for Controlled Railway Crossing Capacity Evaluation under Condition of Poisson Traffic Input

For a regulated railway crossing at one level, a mathematical model has been developed to estimate its throughput capacity. With the help of this model, the throughput capacity of the traffic flow along the road crossing the railway tracks is estimated, defined as the maximum intensity of the traffic flow, at which the specified requirements for the distribution of the time spent by the vehicle in the queue before railway crossing are met. The model is a queuing system with an unreliable device. Approximate formulas for calculating the average value and distribution of the time spent by the application in the queue and the length of the queue are proposed. As an example of using the developed approach, an estimate of the capacity of a particular railway crossing is obtained.
