Toward User-Preference Enabling State Estimation: Theory and Method

This paper introduces a user-preference bounded measurement residuals into a state estimation model to form a user-preference enabling state estimation problem. Two types of problems are solved: user preference uniform and non-uniform residual bound state estimation according to user preference. To solve the user-preference enabling state estimation problem, two theory-based numerical methods are developed. The global convergence property of these two numerical methods can be derived. Numerical examples to illustrate the performance of the proposed method and a comparison between the WLS method and the proposed method are provided. The proposed method serves a compliment to the WLS method. A necessary and sufficient condition is derived for the existence of a feasible solution of the user-pref-erence enabling state estimation problem to theoretically support the proposed method.
