Programmed synthesis of liquid shockwaves with piezoelectric high polymer film (therapeutic lithotripsy)

A method for generating liquid waves with arbitrary shape in liquids is described. The method is based on a traveling wave principle. Suitable arrangement and excitation of piezoelectric film sheets and focusing leads to a peak pressure in the focal region between 10 and 50 MPa, depending on the spectral composition of the shock waves. This composition depends on the shape of the exciting electric signals.<
