A Discussion of the Necessity of Constructing Tourism Service Standards to Cope with Altitude Sickness in the High-Altitude Cold Area

The study reviewed and analyzed the relevant literature obtained from CNKI, identified various physiological responses in the plateau area and high-altitude cold area, and made further summaries of the reported cases using the plateau area’s cold climate and tourists’ physiological response as primary search terms. According to the findings of this study, China lacks tourist service standards that are appropriate for the area’s unique characteristics. Due to huge potential of the plateau area and high-altitude cold area for development of tourism, it is necessary to develop tourism service standards that is compatible with the physiological response known as altitude sickness in the plateau area and high-altitude cold area.
