MPPT Control Strategy with Variable Step Size Based on Power Prediction Technology

The existing MPPT control method faces the problem of not being able to balance the tracking speed and steady-state accuracy, and is prone to multiple misjudgments when the irradiance changes. This paper proposes a variable-step MPPT controls strategy based on power prediction technology, which analyzes the operating state based on the voltage and current sampled from each cycle of the controller and predicts the voltage and current at the maximum power point (MPP) in advance when the irradiance changes, so as calculate the optimal output duty cycle. This allows the system to quickly reach the guessing maximum power point (GMPP). This method not only takes into account the tracking speed and steady-state accuracy of the MPPT controller, but also solves the problem of easy misjudgment when the solar irradiance changes.
