Economic Benefit Analysis of Residents' Smart Energy Use under the Background of Energy Internet

As the main type of residents' energy consumption, electricity can better improve energy efficiency and facilitate the construction of “energy Internet” by providing smart energy use services to residents. Currently, developing smart energy use service for residents is plagued by problems such as unclear business model and ambiguous profit model. This paper built a cost-benefit model of smart energy use service for residents by power grid companies, and analyzed the cost and benefit of smart energy use service for residents by power grid companies through examples. The results showed that: (1) The key to developing smart energy use service for residents lies in the number of terminals accessing the smart energy platform; (2) Developing smart energy use service for resident users can bring benefits to multiple parties; (3) From the perspective of increasing profit, the power grid companies need to reduce costs and expanding the degree of aggregation of “virtual power plants”.
