Two-layer Optimization of Multi-Application Electrified Railway Energy Storage System

On the basis that the energy storage device is used to reduce the traction load peak of the electrified railway, a multi-application method is proposed, in which the peak cutting of the battery energy storage system is nested in the dynamic electricity price. the peak value of the traction load is reduced by the discharge of the energy storage system, thus the negative sequence current and negative sequence power are reduced, and economically, the peak value of the traction load is reduced by the discharge of the energy storage system. Energy storage charge and discharge arbitrage “low storage and high generation” under the time-of-use electricity price policy, so as to obtain greater economic benefits. A double-layer optimal configuration model of battery energy storage system(BESS) in electrified railway is established to coordinate the competitive demand of “low storage and high incidence” and “peak cutting and valley filling”. The commercial optimization software CPLEX and YALMIP modeling toolbox are used to solve the double-layer model in MATLAB, and the optimal energy storage capacity configuration and charge-discharge power are obtained. the effectiveness of the method is verified by multi-scene contrast experiments.
