Decoupled Vector Control Scheme for Dual-Armature Flux-Switching Permanent Magnet Machines

This article proposes a novel control scheme for dual-armature flux-switching permanent magnet (DA-FSPM) machines, which have additional coupling between the stator and rotor windings while comparing to flux-switching permanent magnet (FSPM) machines. The proposed method solves the additional coupling issue through matrix transformation so that each current in the synchronous reference frame can be independently controlled through PI controller. Besides, the torque distribution between two sets of windings follows the principle of minimum copper loss. Experimental validation is carried out on a DA-FSPM machine with three-phase stator windings and five-phase rotor windings, and the results are consistent with the theoretical analysis.
