The control strategy of In-wheel motor drive system using inverter leg shunt resistors

This paper proposed and studied the control strategy of In-wheel motor drive system using the low-cost inverter leg shunt resistor for motor phase current sensing. Generally, the motor drive system requires healthy phase current sensing for the purpose of stable current feedback control in PMSM. This paper proposed the ADC sampling point for the precise current sensing in the shunt resistor system. The minimum duty and the PWM control strategy is proposed and analyzed according to the MODE, defined as motor phase current sensing state. The control strategy is verified by numerical analysis and validated by experimental results in the In-wheel motor drive system.
