Fault-Tolerant Control of Open-winding DSEM Starting/Generating System Based on Four-Bridge Converter

In view of the application requirements of DSEM starter/generator system in high reliability occasions, this paper proposes a fault-tolerant control method for DSEM starter/ generator system to improve the reliability of system operation. Most of the fault-tolerant control methods introduced in the existing literature are suitable for single-tube fault, but few studies on multi-tube fault and phase winding fault. This paper proposes the DSEM open winding connection form, and classifies the fault state of the open winding DSEM system based on the four-bridge converter to adapt to the fault-tolerant control. By changing the winding connection mode and adjusting the switch tube control strategy in the fault state, the system fault-tolerance is realized. The Matlab/Simulink simulation model is constructed to verify the feasibility of the proposed topology and fault-tolerance method.
