On the Creation of a Magnetic Field of a Given Geometry in the Accelerating Channel of the Mpd Accelerator

To optimize the acceleration of the plasma flow in the MPD accelerator, the use of a multisection solenoid is considered. In the paraxial approximation, an analytical expression is obtained for the dimensionless parameter of the magnetic field shape. A numerical investigation of the possibility of using a multisection solenoid to create a magnetic field of a given geometry in an accelerating channel is described.
