Application of Directional Couplers Has a Small Size in Marine Communication at Sea

The aim of the work is to analyze the proposed design of a directional coupler with small dimensions uses in the maritime industry. This was achieved taking into account the fact that artificial transmission lines are used. Lines with a wave impedance of 35 ohms were calculated, consisting of segments with inductive and capacitive elements. The characteristics of a conventional and compact coupler are considered. The result of the work is to show the possibility of miniaturizing the device dimensions by 70%. In this regard, we conclude that when designing a compact coupler, performance deteriorates.
