A Novel Single-Input Multi-Port Isolated Bi-Directional Converter for EV applications

This paper proposes a novel Single Input Multi-Port Isolated Bi-Directional Converter (SIMPIBDC) for electric vehicle applications. The proposed converter works under both PWM and single-phase control modulation. It has the advantages of the high-frequency transformer, which enables the step-up/down operation with extreme voltage gain. Besides, it offers low voltage regulation. In the proposed approach, converter integrated with solar PV, and maximum power from PV array is tracked by perturb and observe technique. The analysis, operating modes, and waveforms of the converter have been discussed in detail. The converter has an input voltage of 380 V and an output voltage of 48V for each port. The simulation results are presented to validate the converter both in charging and discharging modes.
