A High Linearity Reconfigurable Mixer for Software-Defined Radios

A high linearity down conversion mixer for software defined radios is designed in 130 nm complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology. The proposed mixer employs a differential active inductor and the current mirror technique. Thus, the mixer attained high performance within the entire band of 0.9-2 GHz. Simulation results revealed that with a 1.2 V power supply, the proposed mixer achieves considerable conversion gain (CG) by consuming only 0.5 mW DC power with around 4.2 dB of noise figure and IIP3 of 14 dBm.
