Agrosquad - An IoT based precision agriculture using UAV and low-power soil multi-sensor

Development in science and technology in the agricultural sector is continually evolving. However, with limited resources, the agricultural sector continues to be called upon for delivering more. The integration of technology in agriculture to create an automated architecture is a significant way to enhance the management, standardization, sustainability, and produce quality from a farm. This paper presents a solution, Agrosquad, which is a unit comprising of wireless autonomous sub-systems that gather and integrate a multitude of data to provide beneficial insights for precision agriculture. Each sub-system is a modular point-to-point communicating node in the scalable framework, which ensures efficient use of water, soil enhancement products such as fertilizers and pesticides. Sensor data from the soil along with data gathered by UAV is monitored in real-time and further extrapolated to help farmers better assess the available resources and ensure optimum yield results.
