Polymer Composites for Electric Stress Control

Functionally graded solid insulators, which exhibit a graded distribution of permittivity or conductivity in polymer composites, can be used to control electric stress, which cannot be achieved using conventional homogeneous materials. In this chapter, the stress control effect of functionally graded solid insulators and their application to gas‐insulated switchgear spacers and various types of power apparatus are described.
