Planning and Evaluation of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Considering the Service Range

The unreasonable of electric vehicle charging station (EVCS) planning scheme will reduce the utilization rate of EVCS and affect users satisfaction. This paper proposes an EVCS planning and evaluation method considering the service range. Firstly, taking the service range of EVCS, the power in the planning area and the charging power of EVCS as constraints, an EVCS planning model with the objective of minimizing the total annual cost of EVCS is established, and the particle swarm optimization is used to solve the model. Then, the evaluation indexes of facility utilization, distribution capacity and effective service rate of EVCS planning scheme are proposed. Finally, an example is simulated by MATLAB to analyze the evaluation indexes of the selected scheme, and the results verify the effectiveness of the model and evaluation indexes.
