Development of the Comprehensive Evaluation Theory of the Regional Internet of Energy

The Regional Internet of Energy (RIoE) is one of the important means to achieve China's "carbon peak and carbon neutral" strategic goals. It has the characteristics of complex energy structure, multi-energy interaction, and space & time uncertainty. Meanwhile, with the gradual applying of the RIoE related technologies and the continuous development of demonstration projects in recent years, comprehensive evaluation is becoming more and more important as a feedback link. The comprehensive evaluation theory covers two aspects including the index system and the evaluation method. Only through the support of a comprehensive and scientific index system, combined with an efficient evaluation method, can achieve objective assessment of RIoE technology and projects and then give appropriate suggestions. This paper combs the research status of comprehensive evaluation technology of the RIoE. According to the evaluation process, this paper firstly reviews the status of the index system including technical, economic and social indicators. Then, this paper summarizes and analyses the existing RIoE evaluation methods. Finally, considering the development appeal of China's RIoE, this paper proposes the prospects of future research direction of the comprehensive evaluation technology.
