Evaluation of Researchers' Academic Influence Based on Rank Aggregation Method

With the rapidly increased of academic papers, the traditional academic influence evaluation method shows series of limitations, mainly reflected in the variety of evaluation indicators and different focuses, which cannot comprehensively and scientifically measure the researchers' academic influence. How to select evaluation indicators, construct the evaluation indicator system scientifically as well as how to integrate the advantages of each indicator to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of academic influence under multiple dimensions have become two important issues in academic influence evaluation studies. For these two problems, this paper systematically sorts out the indicator system for researchers' academic influence evaluation, proposes an indicator selection method based on the similarity of rank list; meanwhile, introduces the rank aggregation method to the problem, and proposes an evaluation method for researchers' academic influence based on rank aggregation. Finally, based on the literature data acquired from the WOS core database of HRM field, a case study of the proposed method in this paper and the evaluation results is conducted.
